I'm 3 1/2 months post partum... and just got my period. (I'm breastfeeding)
I can barely move. It hurts so bad. It hurts worse than my labor did.
Is this normal? I'm about to go to the ER.

I had my baby shower today and of course not one person looked at my registries. I got two of the same bouncers that I did not want. I got crib bedding me and bf absolutlry did not want. Out of all the baby bedding they pick the one we hated the most. They did not look at my registry because the one we wanted was on there and only $20 more. We got alot of the same socks and onesies. Those people looked at my registry but did not tell the people if was for a registry gift so they could mark as bought. But other than that is got alot of toiletries and diapers that I will need and a bunch of gift cards to walmart. Can't go wrong with that. I have pics but I am doingthis from my phone so no pics today sorry. Only ten more weeks to go.

Hello, Ive been watching the community for a while now and decided I would share my Deer Chili... :)
I hope you all enjoy the recipe. :)

2lbs of ground deer meat
2 cans of chili beans
2 cans of kidney beans
2 cans of diced tomatoes
1 can of small tomato sauce
1 can of tomato paste
1 pk of chili powder
1 onion
clove of garlic
and various spices

brown up the ground deer meat with an onion, glove of garlic, half the pack of chili powder, pinch of ground black pepper, salt, oregano in a skillet. While you have that going heat up the beans, tomatoes and other half of the chili powder in the crock set to low and cook it all day. When the meat is ready blend it into the crock and let your chili cook all day. It smells wonderful and you wont be able to tell its deer meat.
I love the deer meat because its very lean and no grease at all. :)

I know it has to exist out there somewhere. I want to find blankets and stuff (kind of like Jonesi's at BPS) that are linked to my bedding recolors so I'm not hunting around all the time for blankets that look okay with the sheets and stuff. I have pillows that do this as well as bed skirts. I just need blankets.
Thanks for any and all help. :)

Just wanting to update on my post from the other day (which I have no idea how to link back to..sorry!). But I finally broke down and took a test and I am pregnant!

Doctor's Appointment Question! )

28 November 2009 @ 06:23 pm
So, I was here awhile ago, but I have been gone for quite sometime... But anyway, Hi again! :)

So right now, I am at about 13 and 1/2 weeks! It seems things have been going great though! I had my first Appointment with the doctor onthe 25th of this month. (Late I know but I kept putting it off... I was scared something was going to happen like last time...) I just have to wait for an ultrasound appointment and I think I'll be all caught up pretty well. :)

At the appointment they found the heartbeat for me! It was amazing and still makes me so happy to think about it.

So far the only problem I'm having is getting around to telling my mom... I don't really want to because of how she reacted last time. It's frusterating really. My Boyfriend tells me not to worry about it and don't bother saying anything, but I don't trust his opinion on it so much because he really doesn't get along with his family so well... I don't think he understands because usually me and my mother are pretty close.

I'll be going home for Christmas though and That would be at about 17 weeks, so if I don't manage over the phone I might have to deal with it then. Someone is bound to notice. But I'm not worried about anyone else... just my Mom.

That's about it for now. Thanks.

So, right now I am only 11w6d. However, I just received a wedding announcement from my cousin who lives in the Washington DC / Baltimore, MD region. She is to be married the 2nd weekend of May 2010. At that time, I will be almost exactly 35 weeks. I live in Cincinnati, OH and my mom says the drive would be about 8 hours. I am not very close to this cousin (she is quite a bit older than me, and because of the distance they typically see her and her immediate family only every other year or so). HOWEVER, this will be the first wedding for our generation on this side of the family, and I feel that if at ALL possible, it would be really great if I could go. I know that during first pregnancies (this is my first) it's fairly common to be OVERdue when you give birth, but I was just wondering if this sounds like a good idea. I would be travelling WITH my mom and dad, so if anything happened in the car, I wouldn't be by myself trying to deal with something crazy. Also, they are fine with taking as many bathroom breaks as I need. If I were to RSVP that I'm going to attend, I would be doing research about what hospital would be the closest to the church, so that if I WERE to give birth, I'd know where I needed to go, and be sure that they took my health insurance.

What do you ladies think? Do I need to take any more precautions? Should I go? Any advice/food for thought, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

I'm 16 weeks and I've come down with a cold. It's mostly sinus congestion with a small headache. I have various herbal teas and some cold medication but I'm not sure what's safe to take. Most of the ones I looked up on Safefetus were ranked a C and I'm not sure I want to risk it for a cold. Any suggestions?

If it matters I live in the US where medication have different names than in the UK.

Ok so the nursery is almost done.. we are modifying a couple things and haven't gotten anything on the walls just yet but I kinda dig it and I wanted to share.

We have white letters that spell out "nico" that I am going to pinstripe and polka-dot and I have some frames to put up with some family black & whites. I still have to get the vinyl saying made to go under the tree but for the most part, this is it.

Pics this way )

I put the stroller and car seat in the car yesterday ~ making sure I knew how to use everything and to make sure the car seat was in correctly. Kinda insane he could be here any day now or in a month. Either way I am pretty prepared I think.. :o)

I'll put up finished pics in a few weeks ~ my mom lives in Georgia so we will complete everything when she comes down mid-December! :oP

I went to see The Blind Side last night, and the teenage daughter's name was Collins. What I'm pretty sure was originally a surname, and a pretty masculine-sounding one at that. WDYT?

I have a really important question to ask. I'm 23 years old, I have juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and I'm pregnant. It was a surprise. I talked to my neurologist and he says he doesn't want to alter my medicine because I'm so well controlled he doesn't want to risk me having a seizure.
Unfortunately I am on the worst epileptic medicine-depakote. I also take lamictal but I think that one isn't as bad. When I was just taking lamictal I was always having seizures so there's no going off depakote :o(. I'm so scared because I read it can cause birth defects. However I was taking prenatal vitamins for at least 2 months before I got pregnant (for supplements). I also take extra folic acid. I'm hoping that those two factors will give me a good defense against depakote's effects.
Every day I worry about how the baby is because all I want is a healthy baby. I hear most women with epilepsy can have healthy babies and taking extra folic acid helps out a lot especially in the beginning of the pregnancy. So the reason I'm writing to you all is to ask all the mothers with epilepsy how their pregnancies went. Were any of you also taking depakote throughout the pregnancy because you had to to stay seizure-free? How likely is it that birth defects can occur? I'm so scared, I really need some support so please if you have any advice or information you could give me it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
